When I started my journey in the wellness industry over 15 years ago, I was armed with knowledge, certifications, and an unwavering passion to help people heal. But what I didn’t have—and desperately needed—was the tech and business support to bring my vision to life. I struggled through websites, funnels, SEO, marketing, and branding, feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. I saw countless wellness practitioners, just like me, who were incredibly skilled at transforming lives but paralyzed by the tech and marketing side of business.
That’s why Altru Wellness Solutions was born—to be the support system I never had. Our mission is simple: to empower heart-centered wellness entrepreneurs with done-for-you business solutions, so they can focus on what they do best—healing and transforming lives.
Meet Our Founder:
Dr. Connie Cheung
I am Dr. Connie Cheung, founder of Altru Wellness Solutions, with a B.A. in Psychology, a Master’s in Nutrition, and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I am also Board-Certified in Functional Medicine, a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and the creator of Functional Yoga Medicine—a yoga school, wellness center, and online training platform that equips practitioners with the tools they need to thrive in today’s evolving wellness industry.
I saw firsthand how the landscape of health and wellness was shifting—social media and influencers were dominating the field, but many lacked scientific evidence and were spreading misleading information. As someone with over 22 years of personal experience with autoimmune disease, including kidney failure, a transplant, and severe rejection, I experienced the deep flaws in the medical system both as a patient and a practitioner. I realized that skilled clinicians needed a stronger voice, better messaging, and the ability to reach the people who truly need them.
This is why I created Functional Yoga Medicine™—to provide science-backed, practical, and effective training for practitioners who want to make an authentic impact. Now, with Altru Wellness Solutions, we take it a step further by handling the tech and business side, so skilled clinicians can step out of their comfort zones, amplify their voices, and serve their clients with integrity and confidence.
